Bearish positioning and persistent selling pressure leave Official Trump (TRUMP) vulnerable to further losses, although the token is pausing around $1.2500 at press time on Thursday after the previous day’s 20% decline. The fall in TRUMP coincides with the Republicans’ defeat in the US midterms. A buildup of derivatives positions points to an increasingly bearish stance among traders, with the technical outlook also signalling scope for additional downside.

A sharp increase in capital flowing into TRUMP derivatives has driven a buildup in positions so far this week. CoinGlass data puts TRUMP Open Interest (OI) at 130 million TRUMP tokens, compared with 100 million on Sunday, indicating greater leveraged positioning. With spot prices falling, this revival in speculative interest points to a bearish bias.

The downtrend of the past two months continues on Thursday, with TRUMP trading at a record low near $1.2580. A bearish near-term bias remains in place as the token sits well below its 50- and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), at $1.7806 and $2.3075, respectively.
Further weakness, likely towards the psychological threshold of $1.0000, remains possible as TRUMP continues to record daily closes below $1.3650, its previous record low set on August 13. The technical picture is also constrained by a long-term resistance trendline near $1.7772, drawn through the highs of August 29 and November 1, which the token has yet to overcome.
Persistent downward pressure is also evident in the momentum indicators. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) lies below both zero and its signal line, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 27, within oversold territory.

For the bearish tone to ease, TRUMP would need to sustain a move above initial resistance at the descending trendline near $1.7772 and the nearby 50-day EMA at $1.7806. Further up, the 200-day EMA at $2.3075 remains a substantially higher structural hurdle.
