$549.76 million in inflows signals renewed institutional confidence in Bitcoin

Institutional appetite for Bitcoin spot ETFs is recovering. According to SoSoValue, Tuesday's inflows totalled $23.16 million, compared with $526.60 million on Monday. Together, these consecutive daily inflows bring this week's total so far to $549.76 million, reversing last week's $228.58 million in outflows.

A domestic Bitcoin ETF accessible to retail investors has also received approval from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, with investor protection and transparency remaining priorities. The decision highlights the increasing integration of BTC funds into major financial markets, potentially supporting capital inflows over time.

Retail confidence is strengthening too, according to BTC derivatives data. CoinGlass reports that BTC futures Open Interest (OI) has increased by over 2% over the last 24 hours, reaching $54.54 billion. This points to higher notional value in active contracts, attributable either to position accumulation or a rise in the spot price. Over the same period, liquidations totalled $66.51 million, including $57.34 million in short positions. The predominance of short liquidations suggests buyers have the upper hand and strengthens the case for position accumulation.

At 0.0087%, the OI-weighted funding rate is still positive. Traders therefore appear willing to pay a premium for long positions, signalling a bias towards further gains.

$85,000 in focus: Bitcoin's technical outlook

At around $83,382 on Wednesday, Bitcoin maintains a constructive bullish bias while holding above its 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $80,787. Longer-term trend support comes from the 200-day EMA near $76,112.

Further reinforcing the uptrend, the leading cryptocurrency remains above $81,182, the 50% Fibonacci retracement of its previous advance from $74,967 to $87,395 in mid-September.

Daily momentum readings point to diminishing headwinds. Although the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line sits slightly below its signal line, the negative histogram is shrinking. Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is rising above its midpoint at 54.

The $87,396 swing high marks the first resistance on the upside. A sustained break above it could put the $90,000 round-number level in view, ahead of the 161.8% Fibonacci extension at $95,075.

On the downside, the first support lies at the $81,182 50% retracement, with the 50-day EMA at $80,787 providing additional backing. Further below, demand is expected at the 200-day EMA of $76,112.
