What Is On Balance Volume (OBV) and How Does It Work?
On balance volume is a technical indicator that turns trading volume into one cumulative line: it adds a period's volume when the closing price rises and subtracts that volume when the closing price falls. Traders shorten the name to OBV. The result is a single line that rises or falls with buying and selling pressure, giving traders and investors who use technical analysis a volume-based view of trend strength that price alone cannot show. For traders working across stocks, forex, gold, and cryptocurrencies, OBV is useful for confirming trends and spotting early warning signs when volume stops supporting a move. This article walks through what OBV measures, how to calculate it, how to read it on a live chart and interpret signals such as divergences, where it falls short, trading strategies that use it, how to apply it on MT4 and MT5, and how it compares with related tools such as the Accumulation/Distribution line.

MACD Histogram: How to Read the Bars, Trading Signals and Divergence
The MACD histogram is a set of bars in the moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator that shows the distance between the MACD line and the signal line, drawn above and below the zero line. Traders read the MACD histogram to see whether momentum is building or fading, and to get an early warning that a signal line crossover is coming. The bars look like trading volume, but the MACD histogram only measures the gap between two lines.

Gartley Pattern: Types, Rules and Trade Setup
The Gartley pattern is a harmonic chart pattern with five points, X, A, B, C and D, whose Fibonacci ratios mark a potential reversal zone (PRZ) at point D. In a valid Gartley pattern, point B sits at 61.8% of the XA leg and point D sits at 78.6% of the XA leg. Traders watch the PRZ for price to turn, then plan the entry, the stop loss and the profit targets.

ABCD Pattern: What It Is and How to Trade It
The ABCD pattern is a four point harmonic pattern made of three legs, also written AB=CD because the CD leg tends to match the AB leg in length. Traders use the ABCD pattern to find where price may turn, then plan a trade around that area.

Silver Bullet Strategy: ICT Times, Rules & How to Trade
The ICT Silver Bullet strategy is a time-based intraday trading method associated with Michael J. Huddleston, known as the Inner Circle Trader (ICT). It combines liquidity sweeps, market structure shifts and fair value gaps (FVGs) to identify potential trade entries during three one-hour windows: 3-4 AM, 10-11 AM and 2-3 PM New York local time. Traders apply the strategy to forex, indices and other financial markets. However, not every trading window produces a valid setup, and the strategy does not guarantee profitable trades.

Mitigation Block: What It Is and How to Trade It
A mitigation block is a price zone that forms after a failure swing and a change of character (CHoCH), with no liquidity sweep first, and sits on the last opposing candle before that shift. The mitigation block comes from Inner Circle Trader (ICT) teachings and smart money concepts (SMC), and traders wait for price to retest the zone.

Trailing Stop: What It Is, How It Works and How to Use It
A trailing stop is a type of stop loss order that automatically adjusts as the market moves in your favour, while staying fixed when price reverses. Also known as a trailing stop loss, it helps traders protect accumulated profits and manage downside risk without manually adjusting their stop loss. This guide explains how trailing stops work, the different types, practical trading examples, and how to set a trailing stop on MT4 and MT5.

What Are Reversal Patterns and How Do You Trade Them?
A reversal chart pattern is a pattern formation on a chart that shows an existing trend losing strength and a new trend starting in the opposite direction. What Is a Continuation Pattern? Definition, Types and Trading Strategies
Traders trade continuation patterns in 3 steps: 1) confirm the existing trend, 2) wait for the breakout candle to close outside the pattern boundary, and 3) check that volume rises on the breakout candle. Each continuation pattern trade comes with a stop-loss on the opposite side of the pattern boundary and a price target set by projecting the size of the pattern from the breakout level.
